PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide equipment and method for hot rolling by which the damage of a heating device caused by the camber of a rough rolled material is prevented and furthermore asymmetric heating in the width direction of the rough rolled material is prevented. SOLUTION: The rolling is performed with the hot-rolling equipment which is provided with a means for pressurizing the rough rolled material which is rough rolled with a roughing mill from above and below between a roughing mill train and a finishing mill train, a side guide installed on the inlet side of the pressurizing means, a heating device for heating the rough rolled material over the whole in the width direction which is installed on the downstream side of the pressurizing means and a camber measuring device installed on the inlet side of the side guide.
