An adhesive comprising an epoxy compound and a resorcinol formaldehyde latex composition for coating of polyester fibres

A single dip adhesive coating composition having about 2 - 12 wt. % epoxy and optionally 1 - 12 wt. % isocyanate with remainder being resorcinol formaldehyde latex, on a dry wt. basis. The coating is applied to polyester cords on a wet basis and then dried. The coated polyester cords are embedded in a rubber composite and the composite is cured. The coating adheres the polyester cords to the rubber to yield good peel strength results and good visual coverage ratings.
