PURPOSE: A neck injury preventing device of a head rest for a car is provided to prevent neck injury by minimizing an interval between a passenger's head and the head rest and preventing the passenger's head from being bended to the rear. CONSTITUTION: A neck injury preventing device of a head rest for a car includes a seat back frame(11) and a head rest frame(15) mounted inside a seat back upper and lower slots(13,14) formed at an upper portion and a central portion of the seat back frame, a guide shaft(16), a propelling device(18), and a supporting rod(17). The guide shaft is closely connected to the slots and slidably moves. The propelling device is linked with a collision sensor and has a propelling member protruded by an ignition part firing by signal of the collision sensor. The supporting rod receives shock of the propelling member and mounted at a lower end of the head rest frame.
