PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water repellent agent for glass with less deterioration of coatings when it is adhered to the coated surface of an automobile. SOLUTION: The water repellent agent for glass contains (A) 0.1-10 wt.% (based on the total amount) alkylsilane expressed by the formula, CH3(CH2)nSi(OR)3 (n is 5-17, R is CH3, C2H5, or C3H7), (B) 0.01-0.5 wt.% acid catalyst, (C) solvent for dissolving (A), and (D) insoluble fine powder.
