PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decorative post capable of easily coping with post main bodies different in size and alteration in size in a field and having a waterproof property and durability. SOLUTION: This decorative post A1 is so constructed that the wooden post main body 1 is surrounded with plural decorative members 2. In the decorative member 2, one side of the opposite side extending in the longitudinal direction is formed at an insert end part 21a, the other side is formed at an insert end covering part 22a, the insert end part 21a and the insert end covering part 22a are slidably engaged with each other. The engaging part aa is provided with a waterproof material 3 secured to one of the insert end part 21a and the insert end covering part 22a and closely adhering to the other thereof in order to prevent entering of water from the outside into the post main body 1.
