ORGANIC EL DISPLAY HAVING IPE STRUCTURE

PURPOSE: An organic EL display having IPE structure is provided to facilitate formation of electrodes and enable luminescence without additional element. CONSTITUTION: An organic EL display having IPE(In Plane Electrode) comprises anode electrodes(18) and cathode electrodes(20) arranged alternately on a glass plate(10). The anode electrodes(18) and the cathode electrodes(20) are formed in a plane. An organic layer(22) is formed over the electrodes(18,20) for luminescence between the electrodes(18,20). The electrodes(18,20) are collectively formed in an exposure process so as to avoid short of fine lines of a metal shadow mask, line extension on the mask, and alignment problem with the plate(10). The glass plate(10) may not be formed by a transparent plate. The anode electrodes(18) may not be formed by various metal having high work function.
