PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise the efficiency of defrosting and enhance the reliability on a cooling system, in a refrigerator-freezer which has a plurality of evaporators. SOLUTION: A first evaporator 17 is provided in a refrigeration temperature region, and a second evaporator 20 in a freezing temperature region, and a first defrosting heater 25a is provided in the vicinity of the first evaporator, and a second defrosting heater 25b in the vicinity of the second evaporator; and when defrosting the second evaporator, it is precooled, and then a current is applied to the second defrosting heater, and also during the precooling operation, a current is applied to the first defrosting heater, whereby the defrosting time of the first evaporator 17 can be set longer than the defrosting time of the second evaporator 20, and at the finish of the defrosting of the second evaporator 20, since sufficient defrosting is performed for the first evaporator 17, the remaining of frost of the evaporator will not occur, and a highly reliable cooling system can be obtained. |
