PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving system capable of cutting off a current of a motor before applying a large force of a prescribed value or more to the motor. SOLUTION: A control device 31 for this driving system of the winding type or folding type cover device for the automobile is provided with a current sensor 42 for detecting the current consumed by the driving system in operating the cover device 5, measures a current parameter in starting the operation of the cover device 5, and, when it reaches a cut-off reference deduced from the current value measured in starting the operation, instantaneously cuts off the operation of the cover device 5.
