PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quantify the discharge residual level of a high voltage system. SOLUTION: For each type high voltage system, determine a scale of values indicating the energy of a high-frequency spectrum transmitted over a given term by the high frequency for discharge generated in the system for a given test voltage. In manufacturing, select a limit value incorporating an acceptable contamination tolerance on this scale to measure the amount of energy in the high-frequency spectrum transmitted by the high frequency for each of the system under the same conditions as those in scale determination, per system of the same product type. This measured amount is compared with its limit value to determine the possible variation in system production quality.
