INK JET RECORDER AND ITS CONTROLLING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recorder or its controlling method in which a detection output of a high S/N ratio having no electric noise can be obtained. SOLUTION: When an ink particle detection mode is set under an abnormal state where ink particles are ejected with an insufficient micro particle size, ink particles are charged with a reverse polarity by a stable DC voltage being applied to first and second deflection electrodes during an ejection period and deflected significantly to the second deflection electrode side. Ink particles having an insufficient micro particle size adhere to the second deflection electrode. During a detection period, a discharge current flow is detected when charged ink particles of micro particle size adhere to the second deflection electrode.
