摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To regulate the pressure of high-pressure component in a transcritical vapor compression system. SOLUTION: The vapor compression system 10 comprises a compressor 12, a gas cooler 14, an expansion device 16 and an evaporator 18. Pressure of the high-pressure component of the system 10 is regulated by removing or transferring the refrigerant from the system 10, and it is stored in a storage tank 22 of a suction line heat exchanger 20. Heat is exchanged in the heat exchanger 20 between high-temperature, high-pressure refrigerant from the gas cooler 14 and a low temperature, low-pressure refrigerant from the evaporator 18. When the pressure of the gas cooler 14 is too high, an excess refrigerant discharged from the gas cooler is flowed by regulating a first valve into the tank 22. When the pressure of the gas cooler 14 is too low, the refrigerant is returned, by regulating a second valve from the tank 22 to the vapor compressor system 10.
