PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suspension system that controls vertical displacement between suspended mass and non-suspended mass. SOLUTION: The suspension system comprises an elastic link 1 including a spring 4 mounted between the suspended mass and the non-suspended mass. The elastic link 1 includes an electric actuator 5 operable in opposite directions parallel to the spring 4 to control relative displacing motion between the suspended mass and the non-suspended mass. According to a change in a distance Zcr between the suspended mass and the non-suspended mass detected from the displacement of the elastic link, the electric actuator is controlled to generate force F. The force F includes a mass compensating component F1=Ca.Mr.Acr in the direction of acceleration Acr of the displacement of the non-suspended mass to the suspended mass (Mr is the non-suspended mass and Ca is a coefficient), and a damping component F2=Cv.Vcr resisting the speed of the displacement (Cv is a coefficient).
