PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shutter device for a building in which a fire shutter and a fire door can be installed next to each other without setting respective studs. SOLUTION: The figure shows a shutter device for a building with a shutter 1 which has just started to go down to partially close an opening. One side of shutter slats 1a are pulled down along a guide rail provided on one side the opening, whereas an aperture with the predetermined width lays between the other side of the shutter slats and the other side end of the opening. This aperture is closed by a fire door 2 provided with an escape door 3. The closing operation of the fire door 2 finishes just after the fire shutter starts to go down. The fire door 2 is further provided with a latching apparatus at its side end. When the fire door 2 is in the closed state, and the shutter is still in the course of closing operation, the latching apparatus latches the fire door 2 with the shutter slats on the side not in contact with the guide rail. At this point, the side end of the fire door 2 functions as another guide rail. Thus, the fire shutter 1 and the fire door 2 are united and the side ends thereof are thereby reinforced.
