PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pod type propeller of excellent steering performance suppressing lift generated to a strut low with simple constitution. SOLUTION: In this pod type propeller, the propeller back wash contact part of a strut is formed in laterally asymmetric cross-sectional shape with a tail part inclined in the flow direction of propeller back wash, and the mounting side part of the strut to a hull is formed in lateral symmetric cross-sectional shape turned in the advancing direction of a marine vessel. A part between the propeller back wash contact part of the strut and the mounting side part of the strut to the hull is formed in twisted cross-sectional shape smoothly changed to upper and lower cross-sectional shape.
