PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent ink adhered to the tip of a spur from adhering to a recording medium without requiring any spur cleaner. SOLUTION: The sheet carrier comprises a sheet discharge roller 61 for carrying a sheet on the downstream side in the sheet carrying direction of a recording head 51 for recording on a sheet by ejecting ink, and a spur 63 disposed oppositely to the sheet discharge roller 61 in the direction for holding a sheet and generating a carrying force. The spur 63 is a rotator having toothed circumferential part for carrying a sheet while retaining through point contact wherein means for transmitting ink from the tip 65 toward the center of rotation of the spur 63 and means for holding ink, e.g. a groove 66, are provided at least in one surface of each tooth of the spur.
