PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor ceramic (semiconductor ceramic for thermistor) which can be used even for a thermistor with a low B constant of, for example, 0 to 1,000 K and a chip type thermistor using the semiconductor ceramic for the thermistor. SOLUTION: The temperature characteristic for resistance can be widely controlled from positive characteristic to negative characteristic by adding manganese to semiconductor ceramic components (usually, mixed crystal of ZnO and Zn2TiO4) with zinc oxide and titanium oxide as main ingredients. Additional ratio of the manganese should be 0.001 to 10 mol% converted as manganese. Series of specific resistances are realized by controlling the specific resistances by adding nickel at a prescribed ratio. The chip type thermistor is formed by using the semiconductor ceramics for the thermistor. |
