PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a newly confirmed polynucleotide, human inositol monophosphatase H1 and a polypeptide coded by the polynucleotide. SOLUTION: Human inositol monophosphatase H1 (hIMP-H1) polynucleotide, a DNA (RNA) for coding the polypeptide and a method for producing the polypeptide by a recombination technique are claimed. A method for using the polypeptide, e.g. by designing and screening a compound capable of inhibiting hIMP-H1 and making a map for gene diseases is claimed. Further, an antagonist to the aforesaid polypeptide and a method for using the antagonist to the polypeptide for the purpose of curing, e.g. for treating mental diseases and depressive disorders, are claimed. |
