PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving mechanism for a rotating body capable of obtaining necessary moment of inertia, even if using a comparatively small-sized flywheel, and secularly stably rotating the rotating body and an image forming device having the mechanism. SOLUTION: This driving mechanism 110 for the rotating body has the rotating body 101 rotating with a shaft 1 as a center, a first flywheel 14 which is disposed on the shaft 1 and rotates together with the rotating body 101, a second flywheel rotated and driven since driving force of the first flywheel 14 is transmitted and a driving force transmitting mechanism 31 for transmitting driving force of the first flywheel 14 to the second flywheel.
