PURPOSE: A post-treatment apparatus using microwaves is provided to enhance exhaust gas purification efficiency by preventing the thermal damage on a filter carrier and, to induce quick regeneration of catalyst carriers by supplying combustion air. CONSTITUTION: A post-treatment apparatus using microwaves comprises two regeneration filters(32,32') to which exhaust gas selectively flows from an exhaust manifold(26) of an engine(20) through an exhaust pipe(28) and embedding catalyst carriers(32a,32a'), a directional change valve(30) to change the flow direction of the exhaust gas passing through the exhaust pipe, at least one microwave generators(42,44) to generate microwaves supplied to the catalyst carriers through a waveguide(40), a blower(46) to regenerate the catalyst carriers by supplying combustion air to one regeneration filter depending on the opening of an air valve(48), and an ECU(Electronic Control Unit)(50) to control the flow of the exhaust gas and the regeneration of the catalyst carriers.
