摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device for shifting pixels by switching optical paths at a high speed to multiply apparent pixels without using vibration or a rotating mechanism. SOLUTION: Image light beam is shifted by an arbitrary distance in the array direction of pixels by an optical path deflection means 9 using a Bragg diffraction element having a polymer distributed liquid crystal structure disposed just before a screen 6. A shift amount is set as one over integer of a pixel pitch. When performing double image multiplication in the array direction of pixels, the shift amount is set as one half of the pixel pitch. An image with apparently high definition can be displayed by correcting an image signal to drive a liquid crystal panel 4 according to the shift amount by the shift amount.</p>
