<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method of monitoring the working of a coating gun for coating a substrate moving to the coating gun with a liquid with a certain pattern. SOLUTION: The coating gun responds to a transition signal to change the working condition. A sensor arranged adjacent to the substrate detects the edge of the liquid applied on the substrate, responds to it and provides a feedback signal. A diagnosis monitor responds to the transition signal and the feedback signal and measures automatically the delay between the outbreak of the transition signal and the detection of the edge corresponding to the liquid stuck on the substrate, which is generated as the result of the transition signal. The delay is measured by carrying out the correlation between the feedback signal and the transition signal.</p> |
