<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club wherein a carry can be increased by means of a simple construction without injuring the directional characteristics at a tee-shot or the like. SOLUTION: A cylindrical space 6 is provided in a wood type golf club head 1 so that one of the ends of the space 6 is opposed to the inner surface of a face member 4 fixed to a club head body 2, thereby allowing an impact ball 7, stored in the space 6, to move through the space 6 when a golf ball is hit. Thus, when an impact is applied, the ball 7 is instantaneously moved through the space 6 by the reaction force of the impact force exerted on the club head 1 so as to run against the inner surface of the member 4. As a result, simultaneous with the impact, impact resilience for the golf ball is enhanced by the impact force applied to the member 4 corresponding to a change in the momentum of the impact ball 7 when it runs against the inner surface of the member 4 so that the carry of the golf ball can be extended without injuring the directional characteristics thereof.</p> |
