PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer sliding member having excellent sliding properties and having a hard-to-delaminate and thick PTFE(polytetrafluoroethylene) resin sliding layer. SOLUTION: This multilayer sliding member 1 is composed of a backing metal 5, an adhesive layer 3 comprising PFA(tetrafluoroethylene-perfluoroalkyl vinyl ether copolymer) or FEP(polytetrafluoroethylene-hexafluoropropylene copolymer) formed on the surface of a porous intermediate layer 4 by making use of the anchoring effect of the layer 4 provided on the surface of the backing metal 5, and a sliding layer 2 formed by incorporating a PTFE resin with 10-95 wt.% of PFA or FEP and bonded via the adhesive layer 3 to the backing metal 5; thus, the adhesive layer 3 is bonded to the porous intermediate layer 4 through high bond strength owing to the anchoring effect of the layer 4, and the sliding layer 2 is bonded to the adhesive layer 3; therefore, even if the sliding layer 2 is formed of hard-to-fuse PTFE, it is bonded through high bond strength via the adhesive layer 3 to the backing metal 5; consequently, the sliding layer 2 is hard to delaminate, and even a thick PTFE sheet is applicable as the sliding layer 2. |
