PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a false twister which can easily respond to the change of a heating style or a heating zone length, even when the polymer type, fineness, feeding speed, or the like of a synthetic fiber yarn is largely changed. SOLUTION: This false twister having a first heating device and a false twisting device between a first yarn delivery device and a second yarn delivery device and used for drawing and false-twisting a synthetic fiber yarn includes the first heating device manufactured as follows. The first heating device can adjust the yarn-traveling side of the heating device and the yarn-traveling portions of scattered guides at the same position or the yarn-traveling portions of scattered guides at an upper place than the yarn-traveling side of the heating device, so that at least one among the selection of a contact or non-contact heating style and the selection of a contact heating zone length or non-contact heating zone length can be selected on the basis of at least one item the polymer type, fineness, twisting speed and required crimp characteristics of the synthetic fiber yarn.
