PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate downsizing of the device and jam handling of a recording material. SOLUTION: This color image forming device has image forming process means 11, 12, 13 and 14 by each of plural colors, an intermediate transfer belt 16 which is conveyed along the image forming process means and to which a toner image is transferred, a secondary transfer roller 17 which transfers the toner image on the intermediate transfer belt 16 to the recording material P, a fixing means 20 which fixes the toner image on the recording material and a casing 30 which stows the respective components. The intermediate transfer belt 16 is disposed at one flank of the casing 30 in such a manner that its one end is more proximate thereto than the other end and that its one end exists at a position higher than the other end. The respective image forming process means are arranged on the upper side of the intermediate transfer belt 16 as a boundary and the fixing means 20 and an intermediate transfer roller 17 are arranged on the lower side thereof. The one flank of the casing 30 is provided with a door 31 facing the lower region of the intermediate transfer belt 16.
