PURPOSE: A dryer of a drum washing machine and a method for controlling the same are provided to dry clothing in a short time by semi-drying the clothing by driving a motor at a high speed to rotate a drum at a high speed. CONSTITUTION: A dryer of a drum washing machine includes a motor rotating at a high speed, 1000rpm or higher, a washing water heating heater(53) mounted in a tub(20) at a lower side of the motor, baffles(21) mounted in the tub of the heater for preventing the water from being introduced into the heater, and a spraying unit mounted at a rear surface of a drum(30) rotatably mounted in the tub for spraying cold water into the drum, wherein the heater heats the air in the drum to dry the clothing in the drum. |
