PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display is provided to prevent light leakage in a bezel opening area and to simplify a light-shielding tape attachment process. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display includes a liquid crystal display panel, upper and lower polarizers(22,23), a back light(40), and a bezel(50). The display panel is constructed in a manner that an array substrate(27) on which a gate line including a gate pad region and a data line including a data pad region are arranged, intersecting each other, and a color filter substrate(11) on which a black matrix(70) and a color filter(15) are formed are attached to each other, having a liquid crystal layer formed between the two substrates. The upper and lower polarizers are respectively attached onto the outer faces of the array substrate and the color filter substrate. The back light is placed under the display panel. The bezel surrounds the edges of the liquid crystal display panel and the back light. The black matrix is extended to the edge of the color filter substrate in an area corresponding to the data pad region, and the part opposite to the data pad region, and the part opposite to the gate pad region. A light-shielding tape is attached to the edge of the array substrate, adjacent to the gate pad region.
