PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a die including its production method, which has a high wear-resistance and ductility and can be produced with a lower cost. SOLUTION: The die 1 is constituted of an upper die element 3 that contacts a work and a lower die element 5 that joins with a bottom face of the upper die element. The upper die element 3 is made of a material that provides a high heat-treated hardness presenting a wear-resistance. The lower die element 5 is made of a material that provides ductility coupled with a lower heat-treated hardness than that of the upper die element 3. These materials are properly heat-treated, and thus a relatively lower cost die 1 is obtained. A high accuracy in bending is held as the upper die element 3 has a high wear-resistance, and when the upper die element 3 is broken by loading a pressure higher than the allowable pressure, no broken piece of the die 1 flies over as the breaking energy is absorbed by the lower die element 5 abound with ductility.
