PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for deciding a design parameter of an injection molding enabling easy setting of a weld position of the molding at a desired position. SOLUTION: The method for deciding the design parameter of the injection molding comprises the steps of setting object conditions of object functions regarding the design parameter of the shape of the molding and molding conditions, restricting conditions of the parameter and the weld forming position when the object functions and the weld forming position become suitable, forming a calculating model in which the shape of the molding is divided into a plurality of infinitesimal elements, and repeating the calculation of an analytical value of the object function using the molding conditions and the model and an alteration of the parameter until the weld forming position is decided to be suitable.
