PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly cope with such a situation, and to eliminate uneasiness of a customer in a car when power failure is caused or an accident such as a car washing brush hitches on a door mirror is caused in car washing when an automobile passes through into a car washer body in a self type car washer. SOLUTION: In this car washer, plural washing mechanisms 3 are arranged in a gate-shaped car washer body 2, and a control device is arranged for controlling so as to successively perform plural car washing processes in a car washing area 4 by driving the washing mechanisms 3 by receiving a car washing performing signal from a setter 8 for setting a car washing course. The setter 8 is provided with a restarting switch 14 for indicating redriving when the washing mechanisms 3 stop in the middle of the car washing processes. A guide annunciator 10 is arranged in the car washing area 4 for announcing a state of the washing mechanisms 3. The control device controls so as to drive the guide annunciator 10 when the washing mechanisms 3 stop, to stop driving of the guide annunciator 10 by receiving a car washing reperforming signal from the restarting switch 14, and to redrive the washing mechanisms 3.
