PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding comprising a new polymer (cross-linkable norbornene type polymer) and surpassing the quality of current technology FRP molding. SOLUTION: A mold is composed of an upper die (female die) 10 and a paired lower die (male die) 20, and a cavity 30 is formed by combining the both dies. A monomer composition fluid is introduced from the inlet 32, and after the ring-opening polymerization, thermal treatment is carried out, then, the mold is dismantled and the molding is taken out. On the bottom (or ceiling) of the upper die there is a gas vent 16 and on the surrounding wall of the flange 14 a tapered face is formed, and they facilitate the release when dismantled. Minute coal ash and expanded glass contained in the composition make the surface of the molding smooth, and also facilitate the release and give flame retardant property. If calcium carbonate is added, mechanical strength is further increased.
