PURPOSE: A mode detection circuit of an LCD module is provided to generate adaptively a timing control signal by detecting automatically input modes of the LCD module. CONSTITUTION: A mode detection circuit is formed with the first, the second, and the third D-flipflops(30,32,34). The first flipflop(30) has an input terminal(D) connected with a power source(VDD) and a clock signal terminal(CLK) connected with the power source(VDD) through a pull-up resistance(R1) and a DE mode signal(DE) from a graphic card. The second flipflop(32) has an input terminal(D) connected with the power source(VDD) and a clock signal terminal(CLK) connected with the power source(VDD) through a pull-up resistance(R2) and a horizontal synchronous signal from the graphic card. The third flipflop(34) has an input terminal(D) connected with the power source(VDD) and a clock signal terminal(CLK) connected with the power source(VDD) through a pull-up resistance(R3) and a vertical synchronous signal from the graphic card.
