ELECTROCHROMIC COMPOSITION

PURPOSE: An electrochromic composition for use in electrochromic devices such as an automobile mirror, a transmission-controlled window glass or a display device which does not occur layer separation after a long time so as to obtain uniform color development is provided. CONSTITUTION: The electrochromic composition for use in electrochromic devices comprises: (a) a cathode reducing agent consisting of the cation having the formula(I) and/or formula(II) and the anion comprising (C6H5)3BCN-, wherein each of R21 and R22 is selected from the group consisting of alkyl of C1-10, phenyl substituted with Cl, Br, cyano, alkyl of C1-4 and benzyl substituted with Cl, Br, cyano, alkyl of C1-4; and R31 is alkyl having 1-10 of carbon atoms; (b) an anode oxidizing agent; and (c) a solvent including propylene carbonate or gamma-butyrolactone.
