PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display and a method of fabricating the liquid crystal display are provided to coat a transparent organic film on an etched glass substrate to protect the glass substrate, thereby improving the picture quality of a display panel. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display includes the first and second substrates(23,24) etched, a liquid crystal layer formed between the first and second substrate, and a transparent passivation layer(12) formed on the outer faces of the first and second substrates. The transparent passivation layer is an organic film including BCB and photo acrylate. The first and second substrates are attached to each other. The surfaces of the first and second substrates are etched such that the substrates become thin. The transparent passivation layer is formed on the etched surfaces of the first and second substrates.
