CONJUGATE FIBER CONTAINING INORGANIC FINE POWDER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conjugate fiber which has a practical strength and in which a major portion of an inorganic substance can be exposed to the outside of the fiber to exhibit the characteristic effects of the inorganic substance, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This conjugate fiber is produced by simultaneously melt-spinning two resins having compatibility with each other. Therein, the cross-sectional area of a first resin 2 or 6 is larger than the cross-sectional area of a second resin 3 or 7. The fine powder of an inorganic substance such as carbon 4 or 8 is contained in the second resin, and when the conjugate fiber is drawn, the second resin is broken at portions containing the inorganic substance to expose a part of the inorganic fine powder to the outer side. Before drawn, the conjugate fiber may be a side-by-side type or sheath-core type conjugate fiber.
