PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize added quantity of flux added into molten iron in a torpedo car and to improve the hitting ratio of target component in the molten iron after pretreating the molten iron. SOLUTION: A relational equation is beforehand obtained from a correlation between both of the actual measured temperature with a two-color radiation thermometer 13 of a removed slag 3A scraped off from the torpedo car 1 and the actual measured temperature of the molten iron 2 with a consumable type R thermocouple 7, and the temperature of the removed slag 3A flowing out at the slag removing scraping the slag 3 floated on the molten iron 2 in the torpedo car 1, is actually measured with the two-color radiation thermometer 13. The actual measured temperature of the molten slag is applied to the above relational equation to estimate the molten iron temperature in the torpedo car 1, and a necessary flux quantity is calculated by reflexing this estimated molten iron temperature to a planning calculation of the flux adding quantity. The flux is added so that the molten iron component measured value with an analysis of the molten iron sample becomes the target component value in the molten iron, and the pretreatment of the molten iron having good hitting ratio to the target component in the molten iron is performed.
