PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallic material in which both deterioration with time under the high-temperature environment, e.g. in the vicinity of an automobile engine and resistance to insertion and extraction can be improved and further deterioration in characteristics such as solderability can be prevented even after long-term storage. SOLUTION: An intermediate layer composed of alloy plating having a composition consisting of 10-50% nickel and the balance tin with inevitable impurities and a surface layer composed of tin or tin-alloy plating are provided to a base material composed of copper or copper alloy.
