PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To directly position a mold by using not only a ball screw as the drive means of a roller conveyor method but also a servo motor as a drive source, abolishing a mold positioning device such as the present locating ring, a positioning block, a positioning cylinder or the like if necessary and combining the ball screw and the servo motor. SOLUTION: In a method for replacing molds by individually inserting and discharging a pair of molds at the predetermined position between the fixed platen and movable platen of a horizontal injection molding machine, a process using the servo motor as the drive source and moving the mold by the ball screw to replace them is provided.
