PURPOSE: A game and prize providing method using short message service is provided to raise a participation rate of users by providing a game simply enjoyable any time and any place at a lot cost and a prize with a high ratio of winning numbers, and minimize an investment cost of a game provider by providing the game only by a short message service. CONSTITUTION: When a contestant transmits a short message containing an application number to a gate providing phone number of a game provider through a mobile communication terminal, the game provider receives the applied short message through a repeater(S210). It is checked whether the applied short message has been transmitted from a mobile communication terminal and also checked whether the contestant who has transmitted the short message is identical to a subscriber of the mobile communication terminal by comparing the phone number contained in the message and an originating number of the short message(S220). It is checked and requested from a subscriber database system of the mobile communication terminal whether the subscriber of the corresponding mobile communication terminal is an adult(S230). The number of applied short messages received from the same contestant is referred on the basis of a data stored in an application database to determine whether it exceeds the number of allowable application(S240). If all are checked to be normal, an originating number and an application number are stored in the application database(S250). While continuously receiving applied short messages, a winning number to provide a prize is assigned when it reaches a certain time(S260). When the winning number is assigned, the winning number is informed(S270). When a user charge of the mobile communication terminal of the phone number stored in the application database is billed, the application cost is inclusively charged(S280). A prize is provided to the contestant(the winner) who has participated in the game with the application number identical to the wining number(S290). |
