PURPOSE: A device and a method for converting an image into a virtual stereo image are provided to easily construct a three-dimensional virtual stereo image from general two-dimensional image data. CONSTITUTION: A device for converting a two-dimensional image into a virtual stereo image includes a digital video data controller(10) and a digital video data storage(20). The digital video data controller receives a horizontal synchronous frequency and a video frequency clock to divide input plane digital video data into two parts on the basis of a base line. The controller generates a control signal to repeatedly output predetermined pixel data among data of one of the two parts and to delete predetermined pixel data of the other part. The digital video data storage stores input data as it is, deletes or repeats the input data under the control of the controller and outputs the data according to an order.
