PURPOSE: A dust collecting barrel of a vacuum cleaner is provided to collect efficiently a foreign material introduced through an inlet at a dust collecting portion formed at a lower portion of a separating plate by separating a dust by the separating plate at a casing. CONSTITUTION: A dust casing(50) comprises an inlet(52) formed at an upper portion of the dust casing so that air is introduced in a tangential line, and a separating plate(60) for forming a dust collecting portion at a lower portion thereof. A through hole(60) in communicate with the dust collecting portion is formed at an outer edge of the separating plate. The through hole is formed to overlap at least a part of the inlet. The trough hole is formed in a fan shape.
