PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To disclose a gas separation membrane made of polyamide having improved environmental stability and excellent gas productivity and a method for using the same. SOLUTION: The gas separation membrane is made of polyamide represented by formula 1 [wherein, -R- is a group represented by formula 2 and -Ar- is a group represented by formula 3 (wherein -Ar'- is an aromatic part, for example, phenylene or naphthalene and -X- is a divalent group and -R'- is a divalent part)].
