<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a volume reducing machine capable of reducing the volume of waste plastics at a low cost without generating a malodor and capable of being made small-sized. SOLUTION: The volume reducing machine is equipped with a horizontally arranged outer pipe 1 and a rotatable inner pipe 2 coaxially arranged so as to pierce the outer pipe 1. The gap between the outer and inner pipes 1 and 2 becomes a volume reducing chamber 4. A burner 14 is provided in the inner pipe 2 to heat the inner pipe 2 from the interior thereof. The supply port 5 communicating with the volume reducing chamber 4 is bored in the lateral surface of the outer pipe 1 and a taking-out hole 8 communicating with the volume reducing chamber 4 is bored in the lower part of the outer pipe 1. Waste plastics to be reduced in volume supplied from the supply port 5 almost makes round in the narrow volume reducing chamber 4 accompanied by the rotation of the inner pipe 2 while pressed to the heated inner pipe 2. The waste plastics reduced in volume in this process is discharged to the outside from the taking-out port 8.</p> |
