PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for releasing a signature, or eliminating or simplifying collation in processes after folding. SOLUTION: A folding machine comprises a fist cutting device for partially cutting traveling web of material, a former for folding the traveling web of material, a fixed signature releasing device arranged between both of the halves of the moving folded web, and a second cutting device arranged downstream of the former for cutting the moving folded web into at least one signature.
