PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save resources by reducing the number of connecting wires in an air conditioner (room air conditioner). SOLUTION: A compressor is driven by a motor 450 in an outdoor control unit 400 of an outdoor unit. A fan motor 29B of an outdoor heat exchanger and one end of the motor 450 are connected through a common power wire 220, while the other end is connected to a compressor control wire 221. An indoor control unit 300 of an indoor unit and the outdoor control unit 400 are connected through only the two wires, the wire 220 and the wire 221. A compressor driver C9 constituted of a driver, a relay (coil) and a relay contact is disposed on the wire 221 in the indoor control unit 300. Power supply to the fan motor 92B and the motor 450 is controlled through a microcomputer 330 by switching on/off the compressor driver C9.
