PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To join thin sheets 5, 5 producing a firm press-fitting each other, and to spread cut-in portions with a little force, resulting in less failure in the joining when mechanically joining the two overlapped metal thin sheets 5, 5 by forming cut-in lines 39 and spreading a cut-in portion 7 near the cut-in lines 39. SOLUTION: The joining method consists of two processes. The first process sandwiches a plurality of metal thin sheets 5, 5 overlapped one another, while forming the cut-in lines 39 through them and elongating slantly the cut-in portion 7 near the cut-in lines 7. The second process sandwiches once again the plurality of the metal thin sheets 5, 5, pressing the cut-in portion 7 to have it elongated outside the cut-in lines 39, and overlaps and press-fits the elongated edges 49 of the cut-in portion 7 and the outer portions of the cut-in lines 39.
