PURPOSE: A plasma display panel and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve luminance efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A plasma display panel comprises first metal electrodes(15), and second metal electrodes(16), resistors(17), barrier ribs(14) and a black matrix(18). The first metal electrodes(15) and the second metal electrodes(16) form sustain electrodes. The first metal electrodes(15) maintain a short gap and reduce a discharge starting voltage. The second metal electrodes(16) maintain a long gap and sustain discharge lengthily. The resistors(17) couple the first metal electrodes(15) to the second metal electrodes(16) for making the voltages of the first metal electrodes(15) lower than those of the second metal electrodes(16). The resistors(17) discharge uniformly over the two metal electrodes. The resistors(17) are made of same material as the black matrix(18) for absorbing external light to increase contrast. |
