PURPOSE: An inflator for two-step development airbag is provided to protect passenger seated with various poses by forming a manifold between a major chamber and a subchamber and disposing an air vent to the manifold. CONSTITUTION: An inflator for two-step development air bag includes a major chamber and a subchamber(16) which are defined in certain ratio about a central partition(12) and have compressive gas therein. A first and a second explosives exploded through control signal from ECU(electronic control unit) and a first and a second propellants supplied to the major chamber and subchamber by the explosion are included at outer position of the chambers. Between the major chamber and the subchamber is formed a manifold(42) by an auxiliary partition disposed spaced apart from the partition. A first and a second air vents(46,52) for supplying propellant gas to an air cushion are disposed at the manifold. |
