AGENT FOR PREVENTION AND TREATMENT OF GLOBAL ISCHEMIA NERVE CELL DAMAGE CONTAINING (-)-EPIGALLOCATECHIN GALLATE AS EFFECTIVE COMPONENT

摘要

PURPOSE: Provided is an agent for preventing and treating global ischemia nerve cell damage containing (-)-epigallocatechin gallate(EGCG) of polyphenol of green tea as effective component. The EGCG has a protecting effect against transient ischemic nerve cell damage. CONSTITUTION: The global ischemia nerve cell damage preventing and treating agent contains epigallocatechin gallate and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier such as physiological saline. The amount of the EGCG to be administered is 25 to 50mg/kg. Comparative data show inhibition of delayed nerve cell damage caused by transient global ischemia induced from Meriones ungiculatus.
