PURPOSE: A surface acoustic wave substrate and a surface acoustic wave functional element are provided to achieve an electromechanical coupling coefficient k greater than the prior art and good temperature characteristics. CONSTITUTION: In a monocrystal of LiNbO3 as anisotropic piezoelectric material grown from a seed crystal of X-axis, it is considered a case where Y-axis is taken as 0 degree and surface acoustic waves propagate along X-axis direction or within a range of +/-5 degree with respect to the X-axis direction in a cut plane of a predetermined rotated Y-plate taking Y-axis as reference. Thereby, improvements of an electromechanical coupling coefficient and a frequency temperature characteristic are achieved by the surface acoustic wave substrate and a surface acoustic wave functional element. |
